Panasonic DMC-FZ70       4th place, 147 points
1/40s, f3.2, ISO 400, 29mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Crop, straighten, increase vibrance a little, fill in a tiny corner of tile on right edge, denoise, sharpen at reduced opacity, erase some of the sharpening (on a duplicate layer) adjust brightness/contrast.       Extra Info: The background is my own creation displayed on my TV screen via a usb device. This provides the light source as well as the background. The bottles are all varying shades of aqua to dark teal/blue, the rabbit and bird are clear, the little chunky bits are pale, transparent yellow and the tile is black.

Congrats, my #2. So beautiful. If I ever figure out how to avoid lines, I will let you know!

Thanks for all votes and comments. Thanks for the compliment, Anita.

ysal, I know what you mean about having trouble with lines appearing in the TV generated background. Quite a lot of the shots I took were unusable for this reason. But quite a lot did not have the problem at all and I haven't worked out what the difference was.

Absolutely fantastic use of light, rocking it lately, should've done better than fourth.

Very slick, great use of lighting indeed.

Nice color, and a creative approach to lighting. To my taste, there's too much going on here; lose the animals, the left decanter and the chunky bits, and you'd have a simple, elegant presentation of the three remaining pieces.

Easily my No.1 photo. I love the smooth change of colours and translucencies of the varied and interesting array of objects. The only slight downer for me is the black 'label' under the bird which keeps catching my eye.

I was only reading the other day about the method of backlighting with screens. On seeing the result you've achieved I'm going to have to give it a go :-) .

This is so beautiful! The colors and the glass objects are fantastic. Very high in my TT.

I hope you can tell us more about the background. Whenever I photograph a TV or computer monitor I get lines.

Nicely arranged composition of transparent items in an attractive limited pallet.
