  #189 The Junk Drawer
Entry 6 of 19

I know it's here!       ©2017 rd52
Canon EOS 7D       6th place, 87 points
1/13s, f8, ISO 320, 28mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: tone mapped from three exposures in Affinity Photo, then using the mesh tool distorted it, transformed it, widened the front, brought the rear in, and took the front toward the back. Slightly de-saturated, slight dark vignette added, and cloned out a few voids from the transformation.       Extra Info: "Somewhere, just somewhere in this mess, I know it has to be in here....maybe??"
This mess was shot with the help of a tripod and tone-mapped from three exposures.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions.
Una, the empty paper towel roll is not empty, if you look closely you can see the handle of the knife that resides in it. Keeps it from getting nicked by all the other junk in the drawer.
Again thanks to all for the votes, comments, and suggestions.

Is this an empty paper towel roll? :-) Great!

Lo, you're probably right. After your post, I played with the pic by applying 'clarity' in AP (same as local contrast in other programs) and it sharpened it a little. USM didn't really work right for me. thanks for the suggestion.

Well shot. Suits to the topic. In my favorites.

I like the way you have composed this, and the processing is great. In my tt.

I like the angle you have chosen and the lovely grain of the wood. Great collection of kitchen stuff. I don't know if it's the tone mapping, but I feel as though some of the clarity has been softened.

I always wondered why they don't make kitchen drawers deeper. Inevitably, something gets caught when I go to open it.

Nicely composed, yet without diminishing the 'junky' look. Like the title.
