We'll be going back there in September and hope to dive the Salt Pier. Congrats on your top 10 finish!

Great contrast of colors ! A very neat composition

Stark and pleasing at the same time... the building colors and snow / sky work well together.

Nice colors, I would had cropped on the left after the ice & some of the foreground.

thanks for the comments - it is a picture I love but wasn't sure others would share my enthusiasm. It has a slightly surreal quality.

aoc46 - speaking of snow - much of the salt produced in this blazing hot Caribbean island is used to combat snow and ice in the colder parts of the world.... I'll check out Kurlansky's book - my recommendation is the Great Hedge of India by Roy Moxham - incredible story of imperial exploitation and enforcing the Salt Tax by planting a hugely long customs barrier.

ysal - good thinking - this is next to the Salt Pier, (about 5 metres to the north of it, I think - can't spot it on googlemaps satellite view, so maybe it is new (January 2019). Very jealous of you going multiple times - I took so many pictures in just one day - the lizards, the colourful salt pans, the incredibly moving slave huts, the cactuses, the cactus fences, the colourful 'Dutch' buildings....

There is something that really attracts me about this photo. It's so simple, yet so perfect. High in my faves.

I'm pretty much in a three way tie for number 1 but in the end I think this one goes to the top (for me at least.). There is something about it that grabs me.

Intriguing subject, great simple design. Like most others probably, I thought that was snow. Highly recommended: Mark Kurlansky's book "Salt" - never thought anything so simple could be so interesting.

Ah yes, Bonaire. We go there at least every other year. This must be near the Salt Pier? I don't remember seeing this beautiful little building. Good eye.
