Excellent composition. I'm glad you left in the half wall on the right - it leads your eye into the doorway. What an incredible door - some people just have too much money!

Well done - An unusual door and I like the composition. Perfect for the challenge.

I'm really pleased you like my photo :-) .

aoc46 - There is an ornate fire place the other side of the 'wooden part', and as the door (to the Winter Smoking Room) leads directly to the outside above ground level, I would think it is a wind break to protect the fire. It would not be the done thing to have smoke blown in ones face when one is smoking ones cigar! ;-).

I didn't take a wide angle view myself but I'll add a shot or two of the room in the outtakes.

Well-executed photo of a very elaborate door. I'm curious about the wooden part at right and how it relates to the door.

Nice choice. I love the small windows cut into the top of the column.

Lovely lighting to bring out the complexity of the serial work on the door.

What a beautiful door, and a very nicely composed photo of it also.

I'm enjoying seeing all the different doors in this challenge, from the simplest to the most ornate. This must take the top prize for ornate.
