Extra Info:
Friends of ours in the Adirondacks have wild deer which come in the evening to feed. They are very skittish, but we were able to stand quietly and photograph them.

How cute. It looks like this young deer is wondering what you're doing.

Such a beautiful animal!

Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, mvbst, I did do some post processing to brighten the shot and bring out the detail. Good point, aoc46! I found that by cropping his long legs I could place his head closer to the 1/3 lines, and it seemed to make for a better composition.

Good shot - consider darkening the bushes in PP to help the deer stand out better. Also would be better if the feet weren't cropped off (or was that to keep it from running away? :-) )

I have tried this type of shot many times and never achieved what you have. Marvelous capture. I love the expression of the fawn and the contrast of the colors.

Well captured. Good capture of the expression especially. This would also make a good head and shoulders shot.
Please take a look at the three opinion polls in the Forums under 'Site Talk'. They are only open for another three days. Even a vote for 'No Opinion' or 'None of the above' would be helpful. Thanks.

Oh my, what a sweet shot!!! Fantastic detail. But I think what really makes this shot is the warm fawn colors against the soft green, and there is just enough detail left in the background to add the sense of nature. Best of all is the cutie's eyes and the wet nose!

Only 1/100s. I am impressed. Look at the light in his eye.
