Thank you all for your nice comments. This was shot in 'Salon de la Photo' in november in Paris. I think the model begins to get bored about the long shooting session and so many amateur photographers trying to make a good shot. That gives this nice enigmatic look.
Lens used is the Sigma 56mm f1.4 which is a fantastic lens for portraits.

I usually find it hard to like my photos but I love this one :)
although it is struggling to collect faves on flickr and not performing well in this challenge, but I am very happy of some very nice comments from you!

This is a lovely portrait. I consider this an underappreciated gem of this challenge. My #4.

Good portrait. Good sharpness and contrasts, well composed.

Excellent portraiture. The colours and details are just beautiful. I would have been tempted to clone out the candle on the left.

Technically a fine shot, but what makes it special is the subject's enigmatic expression and an overall sensual quality. I like the overall effect very much.

Nice portrait - like the pose and skin tones. Good composition, though I'd rather that the left candle were not so close to her head and that the background foliage were darker,

An outstanding portrait that conveys a sense of melancholy. Well done from every aspect

A beautiful portrait, technically perfectly shot. Beautiful setting and great bokeh. Love the way the flowers complement her unusual and beautiful dress. A slight melancholy expression makes me wonder what is going through her mind.

Beautiful detail in the portrait. The bokeh supports the composition very well.

Please take a look at the three opinion polls in the Forums under 'Site Talk'. They are only open for another three days. Even a vote for 'No Opinion' or 'None of the above' would be helpful. Thanks.

My apologies if you already received this invitation in the Main challenge. I'm simply trying to get everyone's opinion registered before the polls close in three days.

very difficult to comment on a challenge where there is no defined subject just people's personal choice.......
well done and thank you for the entry

I want to experience a sense of joy in looking at this elaborate setting and comparably adorned subject. However, her expression gives me the sense that she is not happy to be where she is. Very well-done technically. The lighting is handled well, the DOF is used masterfully. The focus and framing are spot on! High in my favs.

On fifth look, she seems to be thinking about something of concern rather than enjoying the moment. I'll probably come back for a sixth look!

A beautiful subject, well lit and perfectly in focus.

How nice to see a portrait for a change, and a really excellent one at that. Not quite sure why, but I just love the candles.
