Thanks Bill, glad you liked it. You are right I am more a b&w shooter even though only one of my last 10 shots here was b&w. I am a people shooter and most of the winning shots here are not of people, so maybe that explains other member's preferences, and maybe this is simply not that good :) all the very best to you and yours

Dov- I don't understand why this did not finish higher. It was my first choice by far. Not your usual b&w study, but just a fine effort in any case.

Lovely subject and great use of light. I like it very much.

Beautiful candid portrait. I love the way those screens light up faces. The little toys in the background do look a little neglected and as if they are watching their child wistfully in the hope of regaining past favour.

The kid with the tablet, together with the stuffed toys on the shelf, tell a great story. And the lighting from the tablet is great, too. I'd want to crop off the extraneous mostly-dark areas, especially at the left, and (if possible) brighten the edges of the tablet a little to make it more obvious. Nice!

Very Attractive. The light from the phone provides interesting lighting and the child's rapt attention to the phone a nice un-posed shot. I suspect you wanted to include the traditional toys in the background to contrast the "modern toy", but I think a much closer crop around the child would create a more powerful image, and the leftmost toy could still be "peeking" into the shot.

Good catch. A closer crop would probably work as well, although that would negate the nice juxtapose you mention in your extra info. Love the way his (her?) face is lit.

    Super shot. Kudos!

Please take a look at the three opinion polls in the Forums under 'Site Talk'. They are only open for another three days. Even a vote for 'No Opinion' or 'None of the above' would be helpful. Thanks.

My apologies if you already received this invitation in the Main challenge. I'm simply trying to get everyone's opinion registered before the polls close in three days.

My suggestion would be to crop out the stuffed toys on the right, or darken them out. My eye was distracted from the child, which is a wonderful capture.
