I like the orange stripe again the blue clouds running behind the tree trunks below the foilage and above the water. You couldn't design this effect, you just have to be there to grab the moment.

Congratulations on your top 5 finish! Beautiful, tranquil image.

Thanks JadeO. Let's face it, we call 'em as we see 'em - it's all we can do, and I appreciate the time you take to comment and explain your reasoning.

Lo I think you are correct in your interpretation of the theme and I should have been a little more attuned to the concept and less married to the idea of identical shapes which has nothing to do with the photo technique. If we think identical shapes we have failed to learned the lesson of this challenge.

Similar shapes for sure, in the trees and the reflections. Love the mood.

Thank you for your constructive comments. It looks as though I should have cropped closer to the trees for the shapes to stand out better.
Jade and AOC, the challenge says "compose a picture in which shapes are echoed by similar shapes. This should be a photo of similar or same shaped objects that repeat" I thought a line of trees would qualify.

Beautiful soothing scene with lots of repeated shapes.

An appealing scene, well shot, though the repeated shapes might be stronger.

I'm adverse to sunsets though this one is mercifully light on the orange reds and is quite pretty. I am having trouble seeing the repetition excepting a reflection which is quite a match (more like a complementary pair than a repeat shape) so nice as it as a photograph (and better than some in my top picks) this doesn't get in my top picks.

This is so gorgeous, I wish I was walking along the water (and hopefully no bugs). Great image as a scenery shot. Did you consider cropping to keep just the clump of trees? It's still in my fav.

very nice ... had you considered cropping in on the 8 trees and reflections and eliminating everything else?... in my favorites.

A beautiful and peaceful scene, with the reflection acting as repeated shapes. I like the person walking out of the frame on the right, and the foreground reeds.

Pretty sunset and lovely reflection too.

The reflected line of trees are nice. I think you could tighten up the composition on top, bottom and left side as these areas are not essential or contributing.

the use of a reflection works very well
