I like your thinking here - the large expanse of water fits right in with the theme. I think compositionally it could be improved with a bit less foreground.

Good eye to spot this scene of a derelict boat on the tidal flats; it has a lot of potential but could use some improvements. Cropping from the left and bottom would move the boat farther from the center. Shooting in better light would help in many ways. And for a challenge like this one, coming back at a higher tide would let us see more water and less mud.

Not quite sure why exactly, but I find this shot extremely appealing. Gives a great impression of depth and endless water, maybe :-)

I think the foreground at bottom is uninteresting and the two sticks at the right are distracting. Longer focal length might solve the composition problems.

Interesting perspective with subtle light and colour. This is one of those images that would get better as it gets bigger.
