This is a rocky beach on the shore of Lake Ontario. We set up our own table and chairs to have a nice little picnic.

Congratulations on First and third Esther - this was beautifully set up and photographed. I preferred the angle of your Open shot, which was was my No. 1

Very well done - loved this photo especially the mackerel sky. I was too slow to vote though - sorry!

Congrats! It's a lovely shot. Now tell us where and how you set this up (don't tell me you do this all the time!)

Beautifully composed and taken. I find your entry in the Open is more dramatic, perhaps because it is closer in, and the furniture dominates.

Although an attractive shot, I don't think it works nearly as well as the Open entry for the challenge theme. I much prefer the furniture in your face approach :-).

It is a lovely shot and I wonder if desaturated of colour would be better or worse. I approve of showing the table in use and I like the style of furniture but I am really drawn to the multi colour stones.

This is all full sized stuff, isn't it? My initial reaction was that it was a miniature set-up. I think it is the size of the stones. I am not used to stony beaches at all, but I can see that the stones continue out under the water. It's a lovely arrangement and it would be a pleasant place to dine (once all the stones were negotiated).

And where are the people. I guess that's exactly the point. Nicely set and composed.

Like the scene - well-composed, and the furniture stands out well. Looks as though the weather could spoil the meal, however.

Wow this almost doesn't look real! What kind of a place is this? If it's all real, it's a fabulous place.

A great image, with a nice range of colours and textures, and an excellent slightly surreal subject.

settings on a camera have caused heartache for me as well
nicely framed and out of context for a furniture shot.
I prefer this one to open entry
