ysal, I am in northern CA, the Oakland East Bay area. The Steller's Jays are mainly Sierra birds in the mountains. However, we seem to have several that stay down here year round. Again, your warbler shot is great. Our guy, the one in the album, is here year round also. He also likes the persimmons, although I mainly see him snatching insects out of the air.

Thank you everyone! The slight softness is probably because this was shot through a double paned glass. Also, I was using a 300mm lens, so 600mm shown in EXIF must be a 35mm equivalent.

Nice uncluttered background with a very clear subject and nice composition with the tree.

Great shot - especially through glass. The sharpness of the talons and beak is great, and the colours are very nice.

I'm not sure why EXIF says 600mm because I used a 300mm lens. I suppose it is the equivalent focal length due to crop factor.

Birds are difficult. Birds in a natural setting are very difficult. Small birds are very very difficult! The photo is lovely. The eye is at the intersection of thirds but purely on a personal level, I'd like to see another 1/3 of a frame in front of the bird because I have a sense that the subject is a little crowded. The detail is good but maybe a little sharpening and/or focus might be a hair off or maybe you just need a bit more depth of field. The detail is amazing, especially at 600mm! and the reflection in the eye is essential and the pose perfect. The background highlighting around the bird with darker blues at the top and darker greens at the bottom sets off this beautiful subject.

Nice capture. good focus on the eye. Smaller aperture might bring the tail in focus into focus as well.

My favorite pass-time also. Your yellow rumped warbler is better than the shots I have gotten of that bird. Anyhow, you have the best of the birds in this set. Nice job.

So cute. Well composed. Only the tail is not sharp. In my favorites.

you certainly have a grandstand view the branches create a side frame and the bokeh behind. Photography has been been very good for me this year during the days of lockdown

Great shot. I love how the blurred colours in the background match the colours of the bird.
