Congratulations Maike - I really appreciated your whimsical and technically excellent approach to the theme. |

Congrats - I liked the mirror effect, it also mirrors the way most kids like to play with these beautiful wooden train sets. Causing a wreck gets adults to pay attention - smart kids. |

Thanks Jade. I suspect some thought, with some justification perhaps, that Steve's shot emphasized the tracks better than mine. I should probably have resisted the melodramatic positioning of the train and placed it at the far end of the lower section of track, slightly blurred, to try to increase the emphasis on the track. I'm pretty pleased with 2nd though, as I really thought I'd end up sitting this one out, as this was very much a last minute inspiration, and turned out much better than I'd anticipated. |

I had this one on top. Flawless to my eye. Congrats on 2nd place. It bothers me a bit you lost to a sort of sunset shot! |

Thanks so much for all the kind comments. I was having a bit of photographer's block trying to think of a suitable subject for this challenge and this didn't occur to me until late Wednesday, so it was a bit if a rush trying to get the shot looking decent. Fortunately we have a glass coffee table which makes a useful reflective surface, if you put a sheet of black paper under the glass and a white sheet of paper held behind the scene provided a nice neutral background. |

Good one - that's what you get for letting adults play with toys. |

Cute idea. well shot. Love the s-curve. The reflective surface nicely fills areas that otherwise could be dead space. |

Well taken and a little melodramatic...I would have been just as happ with an intact bridge. |

SteveBee: I wish I could claim to be that clever but I hadn't even thought of that :-). I agree it would make a great metaphor for 2020 though. This was actually inspired by our younger Grandson. His favourite use for this train track is to see how spectacular a train wreck he can cause trying to leap the train across a gap between the bridge spans. Edited on Jan 1, 2021

Very cute and relatable image. A metaphor for how 2020 went off the tracks? |

Oh my! Another mishap in 2020. Nice idea for the challenge, I was going to break out my old slot car set, but didn't have time. Nicely shot, good lighting, clarity, and with the added "drama" of the bridge being out! |
