Eagle1 and AOC46 - I agree that something was needed midway to give the photo impact. I would have quite happily used the stone figure, but there wasn't any way to move further back. Where are those Canada geese when you need them?

The juxtaposition of the stone formation with the distant buildings is very effective. Nicely done.

Striking image that fits the challenge well. Would be even better with something more in the middle ground, but i appreciate that the ducks won't always cooperate.

Interesting juxtaposition of an ancient artifact with a modern skyline of buildings. Everything is in focus, which fulfills the challenge theme. The only "ding" I give it (and this is really a personal taste thing) is that the impression of the whole image taken together does not excite or hold my interest for long. I.e. . . . if the skyline were more dynamic or mixed; if the clouds were dark and foreboding; if there were some interesting trees or an animal in the midground - SOMETHING to enliven and impress a little bit better. Still, this ranks in the TT, IMO.

a good mixture of old and new. th eye is drawn to the horizon with "modern" shapes in view .

Very fitting considering the recent discovery of the ship fromthe Franklin Expidition in the arctic. The warm light is very inviting and the shot is right on theme.
