This really is "in your face" and it is everything you intended, a bold, honest, and intimate portrait, though I think you could still soften the lighting a bit and get the same sincerity. There is a beauty here and this image demands that we notice it. I like it, but I'd like it more if it was just a bit less demanding but then again you might risk losing the power of the image if it was.

Thank you so much to all those who voted and took time to give their comments. I learned something new from your different perceptions of this image.

This is my officemate's portrait that i took to let her see that there's beauty in her natural skin, that those lines and textures that forms in our skin is what defines us. No need to abuse face filters just to look good in social media 😂

Nice moody portrait, almost looks like a sculpture.

A very good slightly unconventional portrait. I really like the lighting diagonally across the side of the face.

Love the very tight crop and the lighting creates a nice range of monochrome shades.

Slightly uncomfortable with the closeness. Nice lighting.

This feels claustrophobic. Give the subject some breathing room. Such tight cropping or framing isn't needed for an impactful image.
