Thanks all for votes and nice comments.
Yes I pushed the micro-contrast cursor on the bird very far :)
For those who want to see the photo in colors, with a slightly different crop :

A very successful attempt at remote photography. I like the composition and the subject, but find the photo a bit over sharpened.

Nice B&W tones. the feathers seem a little over sharpened.

Nice picture. Well composed, good sharpness and contrasts ok. In my favorites.

A beautifully sharp picture. I like the framing of the face against the circle.

Very striking shot and a great choice for the challenge. I love all the shades of grey.

Great shot of the bird (though it's one I'd rather see in color) - like the crisp detail. Might try adding some Gaussian blur to the birdhouse so it doesn't compete as much with the main subject.

I expect this allows you to get the camera close and not disturb the wildlife. Remarkable detail. I can't help wishing this was in colour though. Nicely framed.

The light seems a bit harsh and unnatural. Very cute bird, however.

Nice contrast but a quite crunchy (oversharpened?). Compositionally, it's generally preferable to have more space in the direction the subject is looking or moving so the eye is led into rather than out of the frame.
