#150 Tunnel Vision, or Visions of Tunnels
Entry 4 of 16

Narrow Minded       ©2014 johncomyn
Panasonic DMC-LX7       4th place, 150 points
1/10s, f1.4, ISO 100, 24mm, Manual, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Layer 2 Photos
Curves
De-saturate Slightly
USM
Extra Info: Took a picture through corrugated drain tube, with my son
looking through from the other side. Used a flash light shining
from the side onto his face. Unfortunately his eye got quite
blown out but liked how the tube turned out with the glow
at the end. So took another picture of my own eye, son was
not available, and layered that in where his eye was.

I thought original was quite good, and was in 2 minds if I should
enter this or the original un-layered.

Congrats on your double 4ths! I tried shooting through a paper towel core, but alas, couldn't get the focus right on the subject.

I really like the lighting in this photo - it brings so much detail to the tunnel. I think you did a great job incorporating your eye into the photo. I hope you will post the original, with your son's eye, in the outtakes.

I think you had a great idea here - eye catching if you`ll pardon the obvious pun. My preference would have been to have only the pupil showing, pulling the eye lids apart so it was circular. Never seen a selfie of an eye before :-) Would like to see your original too. I like this one a lot.

Impressive. One of the few "pipe/tube" shots I really like.

Right on theme - brilliantly conceived and carried out. I might have tried to clone out a bit of the white (I assume the conjunctiva) to the left of the cornea as it would be even more dramatic. Nonetheless, it is high in my favs.
