Very windy on that pier, could not spend more than
10 minutes out there.

Taken New Years Eve 2014.

The only thing more incredible that the quality here is that a shot like this doesn't make the top 5!

This is a really powerful shot of a stark and hostile environment - well done.

what an end to the year!
strong composition and subject, looks like it may be a
touch over-pp'd for my liking, but it creates a real dynamic and dramatic picture

Very atmospheric effect and effective simple composition, well balanced.

Striking, dramatic scene, in some ways reminiscent of a Japanese print.

Briljant playing with black and white.

Wow just look at that sky! I know it was a challenge to take this image but wow what a payoff. The strong rocky edge to the left leads right to the lighthouse and draws the eye. I bet this was fun to post process in Silver Efex.

i don't always follow it myself, but i think this would benefit with framing using rule of thirds. still i like it alot.

Definitely feel the cold and bleakness. Beautiful composition with those clouds. High favorite.

like this one very much. the causeway leads the eye to the "lighthouse" and the squall coming in reminds us of the power of nature and how it can dwarf man made things.
having been at sea when a similar situation was in progress i can understand the 10 min rule
