Extra Info:
Was only four months ago it was nice out there!
Tried to remove the screen, but failed, was frozen
in place. After taking the picture, I don't mind the
screen, think it adds a nice mood like grain can. Was
also snowing quite heavily.

Congratulations! I had an idea for a challenge where you take a basically unremarkable scene and use photographic skill and vision to make it something special. This is a perfect example.

Ha, too funny how everyone nearly agreed about the screen. Definetley the right thing to do to keep it on, that's what made the image....oh; and also the scene was pretty as well of course :)

Wow, a double win! And well deserved too! This was my top pick, just a simple and elegant shot. Congrats.

Thank you! This was a last weekend snap, at first I had no ideas not many nice scenes out my windows. I am surprised it was received so well.

Love it. It would be great to take a photo from exactly the same position in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Very nice B&W composition. Would have liked it even more if the shot had been taken from lower down (or do I mean the contrary?) so that the tree-roots and tire had appeared below the bottom cross-bar. For a bit better over-all balance.

my favorite. Image tells a story. I would not have vignetted however.

The compositionis just great - the lines of the window leading the eye in, and the tire placed "just so" in the corner of the frame. But what makes it all so much better is the wonderful graininess of the screen.

Nice take on the challenge and I agree that the screen adds to the overall image. Nice perspective and B&W complements the view. Well done.

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments, they are really appreciated.
Jade O. and aoc46 - Thanks for the great comments, I did try a perspective correction in the lens correction tool in Photoshop, found it did not work well. In order to correct the perspective, I lost the skinny panes on the left.

What a wonderful composition. You've made the window panes an important part of the whole picture, and the screen is cool. Nicely seen and captured.

I really enjoyed this. I like the perspective, the composition, the b&w treatment and I like the vintage mood that the screening provides.

I Absolutely love this, for it's sheer loneliness aspect, also LOVE how the window screen adds thet texture to the image, my top pick.

The screen effect is a bonus IMHO. The image is well taken but there is something about the perspective lines that seems a little off - they're good but I'd play a bit with a perspective tool to see if I could enhance the geometry a bit, maybe to make them more symmetric?

Why aren't you out there having a swing? The screen does make it interesting. Well done.

A good deal of winter loneliness in this picture. You're right, the screen even adds to this atmosphere.

Very nice! Like the simple scene, stark contrast, lighting - fits the theme well. Suggest some perspective correction to fix the slight 'falling to the right' feeling.

Wow -- this is really, really good. I love the composition. The screen adds some texture that works well. Can't think of any way improve it.

Very attractive composition. The angle of the window helps lead the eye into the shot and adds depth. Had to laugh to see someone else couldn't get their frozen screen off. The screen texture does help but the hanging tire is just perfect. This is simply a great shot, love it.
