Marching into the Sunset       ©2015 ysal
Panasonic DMC-GX7       13th place, 86 points
1/1000s, f5, ISO 125, 40mm, Normal Program, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Cropped and straightened, adjusted exposure, increased saturation, de-noised.       Extra Info: Power lines through hills near my house. Not exactly "industrial" but closest photogenic thing I could find... It was a very foggy and hazy day which made the setting sun defused.

Fog and haze certainly helped this image. Good choice of exposure and composition.

I think this is a very good composition. A dramatic foreground, with the diminishing size of the distant towers giving a sense of scale. The wires hold it all together. Nice Job.

Can't say I'm wild about the subject but you've composed this one nicely and done a fine job with the diffusion of light and colour.

Dramatic effect. I like the line of pylons marching into the distance.

powerlines are like marmite you like or you dont
the strong lines draw the eye across the picture.

Nice job of using what you had to work with - well-executed. You might want to cut back on sharpening to avoid white halos, especially where wires and struts are very close together.

Nicely composed to draw the eye into the second pylon. Good detail

I like the composition - the way the power lines go off into the distance getting smaller each time (like Russian Dolls). I like the colours in the sky too.

You're right . . . kind of an easy "mark" for this challenge so very little "wow" factor is present - still, you did the best with what you had.

Theme - 4 Good idea; suits the theme
Technical - 3 Atmospheric conditions aside, looks slightly underexposed; B&W might worked better for this essentially graphic image
Composition - 3 Cropped a bit too tight on the main tower; square format doesn't suit the subject well, portrait would be better and brought the overhead lines leading to the tower into the frame
Originality - 3
Overall impression - 3

One of my favourites.. An interesting angle and for me the gradient sky adds to the appeal.

Great shot, and the power lines take you on a journey right through the picture.
