the cranes in the background are interesting, but they are lost by the jetty

Hazy day, light coming and going. Restricted access and camera on full zoom all contributed to the choice of viewpoint and grainy background. The pathway, bin and huts were all on their own angles, none of them right angles. I deliberately altered the horizon line to try to minimise this distracting aspect of the photo. The whole lot looked like it was slipping into the water. Clearly most of you noticed!

My initial attraction was spoiled a bit by the garbage bin and the tilt of the booth on the left. Perhaps you were not allowed to get any closer to avoid the bin. I like the sense of peeking through the marina into the mass of cranes beyond and the way they are surrounded by haze, it makes them seem more industrial. I tried to find some fog for this challenge but I mist. B & W was a good choice too. In my tt for sure.

Nice clear shot, but the industrial content is overwhelmed by the foreground of pleasure boats. Could use some attention to straightening/perspective correction.

The cranes etc contrast well with the huts photographically but lack a bit of black themselves. Even so it is in my favs.

Looks a little off vertical. The star of the show for me is in the background and I'd want to fill my lens with what is there if possible. As is, I'd ramp up the contrast on this image. Good tonal range and good choice to go B&W.

the combination of leisure boats and the industrial area work to a point but the huts are overpowering

An interesting peek at the industrial landscape beyond the wharf. Great use of B&W, nicely composed.

Nicely composed; the solid shacks and wharf line balances the less opaque background but leads the eye nicely to the objects. I might have ether tried to crop the foreground shack either a little more - or a little less; it kind of looks "chopped" in the middle.

An interesting take with lots going on but my eye keeps getting drawn to the shelter not being quite upright

A nice shot, but the eye is drawn to the foreground. Maybe a smaller aperture could have brought the industrial background into focus.

    Theme - 3
Technical - 3 I would like to see if this worked better in color; not much contrast in sky and looks grainy; needs straightening (notice window on left)
Composition - 3 The nominal industrial element (the cranes) are lost in the background as an indistinct jumble. The strongest compositional element is the diagonal line of the dock and little buildings receding to the distance.
Originality - 3
Overall impression - 3
