Olympus E-M5       12th place, 104 points
1/25s, f22, ISO 100, 24mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash
Post-Processing: ACR crop
solarization filter tends to turn bight objects dark, and dark to light
adjust highlights and contrast, tone truck color with minor desaturation, clone noise
slight sharpen
Extra Info: A few miles from my home runs interstate-80. I trekked up next to the road. Cars and trucks flying by, this one truck doing at least 80 mph best I could tell. In the upper Midwestern US clime, a utility pole is as close as we get to a saguaro cactus. This was shot on a mostly cloudy day, but with plenty of sunlight.

I really liked this shot, was in my top 5. The rather radical PP is very effective here for a surreal image.

As always, thank you for the feedback and comments.

Among my top 5, I think the pp works very well here for the contrasting sharpnesses and the metallic tones.

I thought this was outstanding, sorry it did not do better

Neat idea showing the negative image. Gives it a ghostly quality. I like the nice amount of road that you have in front of the truck (for it to drive into).

Nice idea, but I don't find the tones pleasing. I think it is because they are so bright.

Great idea to use a solariztion filter - you've created a wonderful landscape complete with a ghost rig. Love the movement, offset by the the detail in the roadbed and cactus.

    Not a fan of solarization.

Using inverse works well in this case, but the trick is also pretty obvious.

A really well conceived and processed image. Three main attributes make this photo stand out for me. 1) the truck entering the frame from the left, clearly showing movement, because of the slow shutter speed 2) in sharp contrast, is the tack sharp utility pole, which is perfectly placed and achieves some balance 3) the solarization filter, which creates high contrast and makes this a very dramatic image

It was an easy choice to include this as one of my favorites.

Almost a ghost-like image. Great sense of motion and the isolated pole adds to the speed. Well done and worth the trek.

    interesting effect.

Nice concept and striking image, but the truck and pole draw too much attention away from the road.
