Suits to the topic, in my favorites.

There's a lot of life in this shot, from the leaping flames and bubbling water to the kids having fun in the background. Nicely done.

Actually quite a nice shot though I'm not finding the opposites jumping out at me, maybe because this is so familiar.

Great shot. I might have cropped a bit of the fountain on the left as it is a bit distracting.

Well the jury is in and the people are out :-) Thanks for all the comments.
As for level I used the water surface of the fountain to make sure the shot was level - the rest is a slight perspective problem.

Great subject. It is beautiful. No wonder the people made them keep it. I feel it needs a close crop but can see the difficulties.

It is an attention grabber! One thought is to shoot from a lower angle, with water and fire in along with as much of the background bldg in (and so nicely distorted by the flame - get as much of the distorted as possible); at the same time, eliminate the distracting people, trees, etc. Would not shoot this that wide to accomplish

I like the your shot, but think it would be improved by cropping out the people.

One of my favourites and bang on theme. I like the semi transparency of the flame. I don't know whether moving more to your left might have excluded some of the figures that I find distracting. Also the image would be improved by levelling.

Fire and water certainly are very different, but I don't really see them as opposites exactly. Might have been better shot at night, as here the people, trees, building are distractions. The flames are quite impressive, however.

Good idea for the theme but very distracting background.

Compelling subject that is nicely shot and meets the theme. I do find the people a distraction, however. Some straightening would help, as well.

I did have some reservations about the people especially as they were not well posed. However I felt the they added some human interest. I also thought the sky added some relief to what otherwise would be a boring masonary background. However I did have the same reservations as you mention and appreciate th comment.

the people distract and a move to the left would have removed them and the bright sky.
