  #158 Abandoned or Neglected Buildings
Entry 6 of 20

Remembrance of Things Past       ©2015 Lo
Panasonic DMC-FZ200       6th place, 179 points
1/500s, f5, ISO 100, 89mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Slight crop, de-noise, convert to B&W, add sepia
toning, sharpen
Extra Info: Left to the elements, this house is a testimony
to an older time when farming was
supreme. Once a proud home where children
played, it is now a blight on the landscape.

Suits well to the topic. Sepia toning works well here telling about the older time when it was in the use.

the sepia tint makes this picture for me.

Great subject and well composed and coloured.

Will definitely post the original in the outtakes. I wanted to give an old fashioned look to the photo, but obviously went at it a bit to boldly. Thoroughly enjoyed our search for dilapidated buildings. Processed the photo in a camper on a laptop, uploaded the image from the closest Tim Horton's (free wi-fi).

I like this, maybe would be better if you went beyond the fence. Sepia a little too strong.

Nice building for this challenge. I don't care much for the sepia(red) tone, however. I think keeping it straight B&W, with perhaps some slight warming, might be more effective.

Beautiful composition and right on theme. The crisp, sharp fore ground sets up the rest of the image. I love the sepia tone. Looks like the "dust bowl" era. High in my favs.

great subject and composition, especially the fence as a balance.

not keen on the sepia tone - I would have preferred to see the green of the trees through the house, and the subject alone conveys a sense of history.

hope to see the original in outtakes

Interesting structure. I think a landscape orientation/crop more befits this image than this squarish crop.

Nice to see the lightning protection seems to be OK. ;-)
Great shot!

Good composition and right on theme. IMO, a little less sepia would be preferable.
