    I really love the 3 subjects here. The background and the crop didn't quite work for me.

    @Jade O

Thanks so much, I guess people just love their landscapes, what can i say really, but appreciate your comment so much. I could of easily entered a gorgeous mountain scene from NZ and probably done very well with it, but landscapes don't normally speak to me, like a human portrait does.

    Well, Anita, all I can say is for everyone who didn't vote this no. 1, try going out and replicating this shot. The lighting, detail, depth of field, interest and composition. This, to me, is truly a great shot, so far above a normal portrait that I would bet it would rank highly in and open competition.

    A very straight forward and pleasing portrait. The even overcast light gives nice color saturation and keeps dynamic range under control.

    Unusula portrait and it works! If my two sons don't stop giving me a hard time I might be posing with a sheep soon LOL (just kidding)

    @Jade O - I do really appreciate your comment it made my day I'm glad you saw what I saw. This was not my best photo that I've taken but it's definitely the most sentimental. When we were in New Zealand we stayed with this wonderful couple who have been long time friends of ours. The reason they are posing with this sheep (Danny boy) is bc his mother rejected him, so they therefore had to hand feed him and act as its surrogate mother for the first few critical months. He's a very special sheep, I can tell how much Danny boy loves them.

    Stunning. Very professional looking but I wonder how many will give it its due. The quality is off the chart for me. My No. 1

    @aoc46 Nicely posed "family" portrait - might prefer a square crop.

Lol - isn't this close to a square crop :)

    I love this informal portrait. Who would have thought to include a sheep!! But it works!!

Technically very well done.

    you have a nice group with about twelve acres of grass behind an around it
this would have scored very much more in a portrait crop
