Extra Info: These air-raid tunnels could provide refuge to more than 1800 terrified people during the Blitz of World War 2. The tunnels were partitioned off into eight different sections otherwise a bomb blast in one could have wiped out everybody in the whole of the tunnels.

When the 'all clear' was given, people would have left their place of safety not knowing if they would be delighted to see their homes and businesses intact, or despaired to find that all that was left was a pile of rubble.

The green light is produced by sunlight passing through leaves of trees just outside the windows.

It might be me but the photo looks like it's sloping slightly to the left. This is an optical illusion as I have checked the white line and it is perfectly level :-)

So Rich! As Spike Milligan said. All we had was an Anderson Shelter that we had to dig into the backyard ourselves :-) Great choice for the theme. Very much like the inside of a church that I referenced in the forum. The vanishing point is out past the parking lot! Love the starred lights and the light at the end of the tunnel. Interesting to see it so vacant. Everytime I visit the London Tube I have images in my mind of the thousands of people who used to shelter there. This would not be half as good if it were not for the shadows on the floor. Love it!

Thank you all so much :-).

johncomyn - I did my best to avoid people in the photo (which wasn't hard as I only saw one other person down there when taking photos) as the theme was 'Vanishing point' and I didn't want the main focal point of the photo to be anything other than this.

Classic example of VP with great exposure and detail. Loved the interesting historical details as well. In my TT

Right on theme even if a bit over-used. Exposure is great and the composition is well done.

Very nice location, well exposed with nice lighting. Would have been nice if you had a human element to add a little more interest. I do get the feeling it is leaning to the left.

Fits the challenge well. I like the way the different colours and shadows play on the textured wall. In my TT.

Thank you very much both :-) .

NEAT - As Mrsawyer said in the forum, you seem to be one of the persons who judge a challenge theme by it's title only and not by the included subheading/explanation. As the subheading stated :-

"It is NOT necessary for any lines to meet on the horizon. (Check the forum for clarification as the questions come in!)

with a capital 'NOT' and Mepo's comment in the forum stating :-

"PLEASE DON'T REJECT AN ENTRY JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE THE VANISHING POINT"

I felt/feel that my entry does 'entirely meets the challenge', but I am sorry that you don't.

Hopefully next challenge we can be on a similar wave length as to what the challenge encompasses especially as it seems that 'Vintage' can mean several things to different people but all be correct :-) .

Oh, as for it not vanishing totally, I could have gone back quite a bit further in the tunnel to take the photo but the windows shutters were still closed that far back and it would therefore not have made such a dramatic photo.

Lovely leading lines, just one thing, I can see where it ends by viewing the wall so I'm not really sure it entirely meets the challenge since it doesn't vanish in my eyes view.

Thank you all for the lovely comments :-) .

kerszkavet - I tend to leave my camera in it's high dynamic range mode for most of my shooting. I find it helps a bit in tricky lighting situations like this especially.

ysal - I am glad I am still able to include extra info to go with the photo during the voting stage. I think some photos benefit from a little background knowledge about what they are showing.

It is my favorite one point perspective, it tells an intriguing story.

An excellent and interesting illustration of the concept. I like the varied textures of the surfaces and the alternating shadows and lights from the openings which are otherwise almost unnoticeable.
Thank you for including the extra info which makes it all the more interesting.

Stunning image, excellent location, capture ,composition and post processing. The shadows have just the right amount of detail and depth that makes this a image I expect to see at the top of this challenge

I would have limited the alliteration to 3 words but that's just me. Lol!

Alright, about the photo... I think this would be a top contender. Beautiful lighting, strong lines and gorgeous texture. Well done!

Like the perspective and the lighting, and the story that goes with it. Nicely done.
