    I didn't see it until I reviewed the entries but you have an added attraction in this shot with the inclusion of the solitary lamppost and the solitary fisherman. This shot is far better that it's placing in this challenge. It's the sort of shot people stop and study for a while in a gallery. You need to change the title to draw attention to the elements "One fisherman and his light post" would be a start. I think your friends/family can probably think up better ones - then print it and put it on a wall :-)

Maybe "Two lonely poles" or - if the fisherman was Polish "Three lonely poles." Groan :-}

    I love the simplicity of this composition.

    This photo grows on me each time I see it. Nicely composed and exposed. Great detail, and right on theme

    The pathway of square stones and a couple of the blocks on the left make a vanishing point (v.p.) easy to establish. The long row of blocks running across the photo make an interesting presentation but the hump in the foreground which hides the base of the blocks makes the v.p. harder to locate.

I like the mood here. You've made the loneliness of the fisherman more apparent with your composition. Kudos.

    very nice scene - like the subtle details in the ground and sky. I probably would have composed or cropped out the distracting big yellowish concrete form foreground left.

    High marks for simplicity and composition, and the figure makes the shot. Tough to know if this will make my TT though I get the VP element here.

    Plain and simple, the stonework takes you right through the picture. Good capture.

    Well conceived. I think it would have been more powerful (and strengthened the thematic elements) had you cropped more of the sky and the bottom road out of the picture and made it more of a panorama.

    Bleak but I like it. The sort of triangle of the man, the seagull and the lamp post is good.

    In my favourites and a good illustration of the theme. Plus points for me are the sky, the texture of the road and concrete blocks and your low shooting angle. Negatives are that maybe I would clone out or crop inside the lamp standard and can't make my mind up about the fisherman, maybe if he wasn't positioned so centrally my eyes would not keep getting drawn there. Anyway well done and good luck!
