Very dramatic and I assume this is the sun, which is a star. IMHO this would have been better in color.

its also known as a yellow dwarf
quote wiki
The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star (G2V) based on spectral class and it is informally referred to as a yellow dwarf
apart from the semantics like the colouring in the black and white you captured.

Very impressive shot. The composition is perfect and the high contrast the right choice,

Like the abstract qualities here. Quite a interesting sky shot.

I love the strong contrasts here.

I suppose but doesn't this hurt the camera sensor?

Very striking clouds look almost Biblical but somewhat overwhelm your "S"ubject. Good shot, nonetheless.

What star is it? We don't have one that bright in the night sky.

Love the high contrast. Great impact. (My favourite star is Humphrey Bogart).

Nicely composed and processed, with interesting cloud cover. B&W works well. A lovely image to be sure - yet, I want more from this lovely image. There just seems something missing to put this into the category of a top 3-5 slot - something unexpected to surprise me or make me want to take a second look ... like a dark silhouetted tower reaching for the sun, or a bird or plane crossing the disk of the sun - something to make this more than just a very nice B&W landscape picture. Actually, it's an excellent landscape picture, so what I want is perhaps too personal.
