Congrats on your top 5 finish! Interesting that the helmets are on a wall in the background instead of on the subject's head... hmmm?

Great action shot in a cool Northern light. I guess the helmets are put on the wall so they will be close at hand when his head hits it. :-)

Good capture of the moment, would be nicer with full frame. Your background seems almost sharper than your subject, not a focusing issue, just the limitations of small sensor cameras. Great for macro photography though!

Thanks Jade O. I used the camera in normal mode, pre-focused, followed the boy with the camera and shooted. I suppose I took about 20 tries from different skateboarders.

Given the challenges of direct sunlight, this is remarkably well exposed! Very nice timing. Would be interested to know if you shot this in burst mode and how many tries it took.

Nice action that fits the theme. The background is distracting; could you have shot from a lower angle to frame him against the sky? (And shouldn't he be wearing that helmet?)

A great action shot - I have placed this in my top ten. Unfortunately I do find the helmets at the bottom distracting.

Nice capture of action. However, the background is too busy. Need a cleaner background or one that is defocused so the subject plane stands out.
