Thanks everyone for the votes and comments, surprised with the ranking on this one. Thought my processing was quite risky. Personally I think my open entry is the better of the 2.

Thank again!

I'll never look at solar panels the same way again. Beautifully taken and finished. Congratulations.

Powerful and absorbing shot (puns intended). I got a charge out of it so it ended in my tt.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I chose to push the processing in this one to give it a surreal feeling, I know it is risky because heavy tone mapping is not to everyone's taste.

As you can see some like the sky and others don't, without the sky this would not be very interesting in my opinion.

I love what you did with the toning. One of my top pick.

usually not a fan of (overused) tone mapping, but, in this case it adds a surreal nature to the image. Like the colors except for what appears to be unnatural grey clouds admixed in the white and rose colored

I'm amazed at what you've done with this scene. The composition is striking, and the tone-mapping really breathes life into the clouds and field.

Didn't know solar panels could be so attractive, but you've managed to make them so with the color toning and soft processing of the clouds, while keeping the panels sharp.

Not a fan of the tone mapping here as it creates an "off" glow to my eye. Nice framing of the subject but the angle is very conventional. I wonder if straight on one panel might give a more dramatic image.

Striking image, well-composed. Like the angularity in the panels. Not so sure about the tone-mapping - it gives an interesting 'other-worldly' feel, but the foreground grass seems washed-out.

Excellent example of how to photograph a seemingly boring subject and turn it into something really pleasing. Love the sky. Great composition.

An interesting image. I like the composition. I think the tone mapping is problematic/overdone. I don't like the darkening of the sky.
