Thanks Carlo for your comments, and you are right it is a chinese traditional wedding dress. As I said before, today is less common to see these, so it was with a little luck I was able to shot this one ;-)

congratulations Niko. I knew this one had to be you. I love that red umbrella. And unlike most people I like this angle rather than a frontal one.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Since 50% of the comments seems to favor a front pic. of the subject, let me try to explain. It was a casual shot. I came across this bride using a traditional wedding dress, which is not common, they go more 'western style', these days, so I could only take two pics before they went away. 1 back and 1 front, but the front pic. did not came out very well IMO. I don't even have an out take, so, or this one or none :-)
Many thanks and wishing all the entries the best luck ;-).

I like this a lot~! Walking, shadows, and the promise of the tradtional day ahead. You added the emphasis on the bride with the color and even if I dont usually black and white that part of your photo seemed to balance well.
Great Job~!
My Number 1~!

In my first draft of favorites. Not the best view of your three models, but the beauty of the dress works. You did a very good job on the desaturation, too. I'm curious if a little less desaturation (a little more surrounding color) might have worked, too.

I like the selective coloring very much as it makes the object of our attention the young lady in traditional garb, stand out quite well. Even thought the trio is moving away from us our interest is caught by the color and the composition. The only distraction is the telephone in the gentleman's hand, but that is a sign of the times. In my top 5.

Lovely photo and surely one of the best matches to the theme. I wish we were facing them and the background were nicer. TT

Striking. Perhaps an image from the front would've been more appropriate, but that's my opinion. In my TT.

Nice editing. Would it not have been better had you caught them from front?

A wonderfully colourful effect with the excellent PP work. A well crafted shot with plenty of tradition. TT.

You did a great job of giving emphasis to the subject matter, the traditional dress. The colors really stand out against the black and white.
Pitty you couldn't get a frontal picture.

I like the PP work of the color/black and white treatment. In my TT.

Interesting shot. I wouldn't have expected that from a shot of people's backs but, with the clever use of black and white, this really works for me. I like it a lot.
