    Congratulations for 6th place!
the idea is very good, composition too, but sorry, don't like the result, is the original one like this or some problem in downsizing as La Ree suspects? I can see some motion blur and oversharpening artifacts trying to fix the blur...

If it was technically correct this would be really a great shot!
Carlo :-)

Great subject, and your composition is excellent, but unfortunately it seems a little soft and over-processed.

Clever subject and composition, very well captured. I'm a bit sidetracked by the knife marks?/moisture? on the cut surface, but I like the concept, the whole picture, down to the seed, it - dare I say it - as crisp as an apple!
Definitely in my TT.

Ut oh, I hope that wasn't from me resizing. I didn't apply unsharp mask, but it does look better in the larger size submitted. Got to make sure those images are sized to spec's, you don't want me resizing them for ya! Seriously, some images just don't downsize well, especially if they've been post processed a lot. I really like this image and it is in my favorites.

Seriously over sharpened ... I suspect a severe crop as well. Really nasty artifacts everywhere ... halo around the seed, and scattered noise of and compression artifacts everywhere.
