    rafinmelb,

The real back story probably isn't as interesting as the one you'd make up...

My mother and I were discussing something I'd read in a book several years ago which suggested that a good way to work out someone's strengths and weaknesses was to imagine a world populated only by multiple copies of that one person. Would the world run smoothly? Would people cooperate with each other?

That's what gave me the multiple idea. My mum and dad play cards every night (and she loves purples and lilacs) so I used that idea as my Main entry and the staircase shot was taken just in case I didn't find a subject for my Open entry.

I did eventually manage to take a photo (at a concert) for my Open entry but I got home late and missed the deadline by about an hour. You can see it here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2284/1560654550_32a201ee6d.jpg

The singer lay on the floor at the end of one of her songs and so I took a close-up. She was wearing a purple PVC mini-dress which appeared to be very popular with the crowd :-)

    Great idea and execution.
My only fault is that in my view it needs rotation to the right as everything seems to tilt to the left.
Top Ten, good luck.

OK, so it is in my early favourites, but you have to provide the back story for the shot. It is begging for one. I know I can make one up, and I have, but I want the truth.....LOL

Very interesting photoshop effect. Also, a unique take on the 'Purple' theme. I really enjoyed this.

    LaRee,

Yes, the walls really are that colour. My mother loves purples and lilacs.

The cards are also genuinely purple. They're from a pack of flower design playing cards and we picked out the purple ones.

Nice post processing work. Are the walls really purple in this room? Very cool idea. Even the playing cards are in purple hues.
