Thanks for sharing the 'whats behind the photographer' view .I'm so pleased it wasn't a chemical complex or somthing similar.

I find your image very effective because of its simplicity and the stark contrast between the sky, dry grass, and the derelict building. In itself, the old house is not much to look at, but put everything together and you have a very strong picture. One of my faves.

    Thanks for all the comments.

liamb- I should have added that I used the channel mixer to convert to b/w to get the dark skies.

Bepar- Yup. I used a polarizer.

lesf- I just watched a preview for Tideland on Youtube. Ack!
As for what was behind me... Nothing. :) Here's a picture of the other side of the dirt road I was taking the picture from. Near the hills in the background there is a highway.

I don't know if this will work. My photobucket account is set to private.

An eerie image very reminiscent of Tideland. I keep wondering, what is behind the photographer? TT

This is a very colorfully rich image. I'm going to guess that you used a polarizer to get that deep blue sky. Great job!

Neat shot, abandoned buildings are good subjects, and this location is picturesque. I like the way the light colored brush contrasts with the dark blue sky.

Great shot, the sky and the shadows contrasted with the brighter shrubs makes for a really nice picture.
