Thanks, dodrizzt. There were some really interesting vapour formations with a strong wind to blow them into the frame and then quickly dissipate them but timing those and the light show was difficult.

Thanks, aprilesole. I think your taking the time to congrat each of us is great.

Thanks, LindyB. Let me know next time you're buying pick you numbers lotto tickets -- you can pick one for me!

Congrats Jade O. for your T3 finishing, I really liked this pic. That water venting really added extra atmosphere to the pic, I was so sure it was a stormy sky :-)

Congratulations Jade O! I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself for selecting the top three in the right order. If only I'd placed a bet ...!

slieb25 The colour is straight out of the camera.

dodrizzt That stormy sky is actually clear of cloud and a very cold black. The light blue haze is water venting from the adjoining building reflected by the lighting on the building roof.

Thank you all for your comments and your votes. Each one is appreciated.

Like the angle and colorization on the tower. The deep blues are very nice.

Great and strong image, the dark, stormy sky adds a lot of drama, great blue tones... even rotating the pic to portrait aspect, it keeps its strenght... very well done, my #1, good luck!!

Thank you for all your comments.

I was going to title this, Space Needle (but Seattle has one), or Space Odyssey because it evokes that for me (but Kubrick did that better), or 553.3 meters into Space, being the height of the structure.

The image is of the CN Tower shot virtually straight up with tripod while sitting on concrete steps outside the Skydome* in below freezing weather (I froze my b--- for this shot). The top left cloud is water vapour venting from the dome and reflecting the lighting which colours the exterior of the Skydome at night.

(*The Skydome is a professional sports stadium with a retractable rigid dome shaped roof)

The white light is a ceiling light seen through a part of the glass floor on the pedestrian level, and the lower right is the elevator shaft which has a light effect at night which strobes up to the circle, then the circle lights, then the upper tower. The actual image as lit was caught in a single exposure (on about the sixth attempt).
