Thank you all for your kind comments. I'm not at all sorry to be #2 to such a great winning shot (which I also picked as my #1).

I hope this isn't the last time that we will have such a fabulous field full of fine photos to feast on and fire up our fervor for photography :-)

boar76 - Thank you for your comments.
slieb25 - Glad you liked most of it. The kayaker was a complete (and welcome) surprise to me.
Old Finn - Thank you. I'm glad the photo transmitted some feeling. It was a beautiful, quiet evening.

    Balanced,well composed,nice colors....
...But I've preferred to see only the silhouette of the man...

Great sunset shot, the colors look a little over the top IMO, but still a nice capture, the kayaker adds much to the image. In my TT.

Una - Nice spotting. You guessed right. Glad you liked it.
Rafinmelb - Appreciate your comment. Put us on your must visit list. Hospitality guaranteed :-)
Franz07 - Thank you for the comment. It wasn't planned. As I arrived at the park I saw two kayaks coming into shore and had to scramble to fire off a shot. I found out later that my camera was set on Auto Macor Focus.
Lo - I work best behind the bushes :-)
ThingFish. Thank you - you are right on target about the tranquility too.
JadeO - Your detailed comments are always appreciated and as usual hit the nail on the head. I was also troubled by the point of land but when I removed it the photo seemed to loose depth. [Gods can't be right all the time :-) [In joke for Jade O] ]
Gail - Merci
LindyB - Glad you liked it - I should have linked to the song as you suggested in the forum (saw the hint too late)
kjwags - Thanks for the comments. I have no idea who the guy in the kayak was - complete fluke. See my reply to JadeO on the dreaded black spot:-) It shall be removed!

That reminds me of the Excaliber picture in the fable challenge. Is that you, Mepo? Anyway, a wonderful picture! I could't think of a better one for the song. In my TT.

Don't know the song, never been to Canada. So I may be totally wrong but for me it fits. A nice shot as well so a TT.

For your photo I have no other word but "beautiful"! What a great shot!
And the Big Band Jazz that I like a lot fits perfectly. You caught the canoe in the perfect moment and there is still detail visible in the foreground, although you took the photo against the sun.
Very well done.

Beautiful composition. Stunning sunset. Image radiates a lovely tranquility. This must be the perfect song title/image match up.

Kuddos for cloning out the birds; this is a case study in simplifying your image to its essential elements. Nice match to the song; beautifully photographed, nicely framed, well balanced. I do wish the sun was just a little more to the left but that might have pushed the paddler too far over. As it is I wonder if you could have cropped some from the top or bottom or both but playing around with the sliders I think touching top or bottom is a risk in losing as much as you gain. I'd be tempted to play with the colours a little but I can almost feel the sun on my face in this one so I'd be nervous about that too. You should be proud of this one. It has a natural feel to it in a way that it makes it look not like some professionally set shot--and I mean that in a complimentary way. [Edit. My only little niggle (don't know which Challenge participant I stole that word from) is that sharp edged black triangle on the right which I want to see also cloned out.]

Although I don't know the song, the title certainly fits and the image is very beautiful. It will no doubt be high in my TT.

Perfect fit to theme, beautiful photo. Looks like a wonderful night to be out kayaking & taking photos. Only thing I find not wrong with photo, just a distraction is the dark area above grass line on right side, can't tell if it's a piece of land or tree but it attracts my eye when looking at photo. Still adding to favorites.
