Post-Processing:
Cropped; exposure adjustment (offset and gamma). Color conversion and adjustments in CS3 using Silver Efex Pro.
Extra Info:
The dog and I are looking straight up at his (the dog's) nemesis squirrel. I, of course, see this in color. Actually, dogs are not completely color blind, but I chose not to tone this shot in monochromatic shades of blue or brown.

I had it in my TT, had just no time to leave a comment before voting.

This was my #4. It's unfortunate that the dog couldn't vote....

That is extremely generous. I am glad that you like the work. The truth is that I usually shoot for myself. It's very rewarding when someone else sees what I see and appreciates it.

Bill this is such a great image and my No. 5 pick. When I think of classic photography I think more and more often of your images. I think there is an element of making the extraordinary seem easy and effortless that is a testament to your skills (and is maybe overlooked by many who vote). I wish I could do images as you have in these last couple of challenges but maybe I need a few more years of work at it. (I must have shot 100 squirrel in trees and never yet quite managed this.) Always enjoy seeing your work like this.

Cool :-) I like the DOF all around, with the squirrel tack sharp and the leafs at different levels creating a very nice framing. Also b&w works very well. An the double angle (you looking up-the squirrel looking down) for me fits the theme, so it's TT for me, well done on a nice pic!

Many thanks to the dog for giving us such an interesting view. It's a beautiful photo, and the monochrome gives it a very soft effect.

Great shot, I really like this photo, nice capture of the squirrel. The B&W works for me.

Right. The leaves at the bottom are a problem. They are much more in the foreground and both out of focus and strangely back lit. Not much I could do about it because to crop would have ruined the remainder of the shot.

A lovely nature shot. I like the b&w. Not sure what has happened to the leaf edges on the bottom. I suspect that in colour the bright areas on the right would be intrusive. Here they are not. Well done.

Not really a tame squirrel in any sense. It felt safe way up the tree. This looks close, but the camera was at max focal length, about 500mm (35mm equivalent).

Very tame squirrel......or unusually soothing photographer (and dog). This is a compelling shot. Woof!

An uncommonly good portrait of such a common animal.
