LaRee: It's not just the voters on Panachallenge :-)

Jade: You are so right about the value of comments; maybe some of the systems that Lee is busy reviewing will help the whole voting process. On another subject - apparently we are making Billy's cough worse - see my entry for a chuckle.

Thanks, Laree. Five votes out of 22 tells the story. But while I see the technical flaws, only Mepo had and took the time to comment on why he didn't vote on this one. I think we learn most from what others tell us we did wrong or what did not appeal but unfortunately not many go that far so we are left wondering which is why, positive or not, I try to leave a comment on every entry.

Thanks Mepo. I just tried this after raf's comments on a previous challenge and I think the zoom effect worked out better than the car itself.

JAde: Thanks for the detailed explanation of the technique - it's good to learn something new. And yes, it would be nice to be in the driver's seat; fantastic car. p.s. I left a reply to your comment on the diver's bell LOL.

Thanks for the explanation on your technique here Jade. I am surprised this didn't place higher. It sure caught my eye and made sense for the theme. Which still makes me think I'll never figure out the voters in the Panachallenge! ;-)

dodrizzt You are right in noticing that there are only two layers here and despite my attempt at avoiding the rectangle, I think I agree it is a little too pronounced. But when I did the closer crop on the top especially, the Ferrari looked pasted on so I found I needed the background to the let and top especially to "ground" the image. I think the idea was o.k. but I admit I've failed a bit in the execution. I'm not totally happy with the result.

Great job with the zooming here, the light lines are perfectly straight, and also work well leading the sight from the outside into the (looooovely) 360 (args... I want one of those... :-)
I'm a bit doubfult abouth the layering... the bottom side of the Modena is ok, but the top and lateral sides look a bit strange... maybe erasing a little extra of the dull gray sorrounding, closer to the car as in the bottom, to avoid that rectangular shape...
But anyway, still in my TT, well done!!

Mepo, I think you are right, and not. I am obviously not in the Ferrari and from my perspective, I really wish I was inside doing the driving. But I do see that there is an equally obvious conclusion to be made that somehow the photographer and driver are interacting and so I think you make a very valid point.

Eye catching and very interesting technique. However I don't feel that it fits the theme as I do not have the impression that ". . . you are removed from the event"

Thanks for commenting Old Finn. I tried a few crops but didn't like the results; this is not quite the way it should be still but I ran out of time.

A good take, but I would have cropped it so, that the object wouldn´t be so centrally. Anyway, in my top five.

Two images, one of the car and the second of the street; held the street exposure on tripod for two seconds then zoomed out for the duration of the third second to create the streaking effect. Admittedly, the car is not as sharp as it should have been but we were having too much fun that night for a retake.

I don't know how you did this but you sure have a very eye catching appealing image you've created. Nice!
