This challenge period must have brought dull weather to most of the globe. Another great composition that is hurt by the gray skies. I really admire the texture of the stone that you captured here.

It's a beautifully classic building, taken at a lovely angle.

Jade, I had a choice of a leaning dome or the right side of the building. It was an odd angle to shoot from, but I thought it added interest. I rotated it some to make the dome vertical (maybe too much so). I'll check the original. As for the sky, I think this would have been a prime candidate for HDR. (which I've never done .... yet!)

Fine colour and exposures to bring out the textures of the three building materials. While washed out sky can be a decided negative, it works well here. The off vertical elements on the right make me feel the image is leaning a bit and for me a perspective adjustment in PP might help.

Forkcandles, I almost forgot to submit an entry at all. I barely got it in with 11 seconds to spare! So, I had no time for post-processing info, nor extra info.
By the way, it's the Georgia (USA) state capitol building in our capital city of Atlanta. As for the statue on top, she was first named the Goddess of Liberty according to some, and is now commonly known as "Miss Freedom." She is made of copper and painted white. In her left hand, Miss Freedom holds a sword, and has a torch in her right hand. I'll use her in the "statues" challenge, whenever that is! (smile)

nice picture of a building, some more info as to what the building was used for, even the statue does give much of clue to help if the picture works or not
