Thanks. The 'painterly' effect was what I was going for. Glad someone got the idea.

Beautiful and "classy" image, the warmth colours from the candle lighting usually are a white-balance-headache, but here work nicely to give the impression of a painting instead of a pic... TT for me, nicely done!

Nice shot, clever idea, beautiful lighting, in my picks.

Wow, set yourself a challenge with the candle light off the flowers. Works well off the near roses but the one next to the candle a little less so. None the less in my favourites as it is a pleasing composition and a courageous attempt at something interesting

A single light source? I cannot make out if the candle is in the middle of the two main flower groups. apart from that love the picture you can smell the perfume of the flowers with the smell of melting wax.

I had a version that was less red, but it did not look like candle light. I went with the natural warmth of the light source, which is, actually, only the candle in the shot.

Don't know how it would have looked, but I guess I'll try it and find out. Thanks for the idea.

Nicely lit. I wonder what it might have looked like if the flowers had been laid on the table with the lemons and shot at surface height with the candle in the background.
