Many thanks again dear friends, I've been also too busy at work these days and couldn't answer all your comments (In fact, almost ran out of time to enter the current challenge, made two real last-minute entries :-D).
Appreciate a lot all your comments, even Michael and Mike took the time after their holidays! thanks!!! (also special ones for Jade, impressive follow-up, glad you visited my pic again! :-)))))
And finally, I must send another golden honour badge to Master Detective Michael... LOL!!! well, the corn tips have an explanation... the corn is fake!!! it's an artificial deco my mother has at home... :-D :-D so that's why you see something "wrong" there, nothing escapes from your detective eyes!! :-D :-D :-D :-D
It's possible to find some real corn tied that way in country villages at my region, like the one where I grew up, but I hadn't the time to search for one, so used that fake ones because it was a nice remembering from my childhood (I helped my grandparents to tie lots of those many times :-)

Jade, that's a big relief. And yes, of course trust you.
(this is a scary place)

Edward 48 I like this one better than my entry as well (but trust me, I am not sterile!)

Billy, two weeks ago when I left to go on holiday I had this as my top shot.
Looking at it again now I find it's still my number one. It has a lovely warm atmosphere, typical of a country kitchen. Although the onions shot is a worthy winner I found it a little sterile compared to this.
I hope Jade doesn't come after me :(

Belated congratulations Billy. Just back from vacation. Super shot. The only thing that I didn't like were the tips of the corn that appeared to be blurry and over processed. Your composition evoked some memories from my childhood where I remember similar displays - the braised onions especially. Bravo.

    Congratulations Billy!
Oh man, you really fooled me with this entry! I was never even close to think that this one was from you... The objects, the colors and the softness - I imagined this motif build up on a nice mantelpiece somewhere in Canada or so, but not in a big city in Spain!!! ;-D
Cool shot, that shows your versatile talent!

Hi all dear friends, and many, many thanks as usual for such nice comments, I really didn't expected so many ones, for the great competence (lots of great pics this time!) and because I really had little time left for my pics this time (and for leaving comments also, pityful) because we are entering the "more-than-a-lot" of work season at my job, and my timetable has exponentially expanded... and my free time reduced :-/

- Jade: wow... being your #1 is really much, much more than expected!! really many thanks!!! :-) :-) I agree the composition is too complex and busy, as many other friends say in their comments, but I had so much fun collecting items from my childhood memories from my parents house, that I simply couldn't leave anything out :-) glad you like the half-bottle, I really did an aggessive cropping here because I thought it helped to see more details in the pic, in order to somehow "lightening" a bit the busy setup, making the eyes wander around... and cropping the bottle was almost a must, as I didn't like the empty space around it on the right side when leaving it completely in... nice you also think it works :-)
- Raf: Besides being glad with your nice comment, what made me much more happy was receiving it... you're back!! welcome!!!!!! :-) :-) :-)
- Alby: ciao amico!! :-) read my comment to Jade about the so busy setup, I'm happy you like it anyway, especially colours, being myself a huge fan of your own colours :-)
- Doto: wow! many, many thanks, being so high in your picks really makes me very happy and confident that my pic still has "something"... thanks!! :-)
- Una: also many thanks for your great vote! I'm very happy you like the softness too, the actually hardest part of the PP was creating that "soft looking" and at the same time preserving lots of small details... I had the idea of doing that in order to create an "old memories" ambience. Glad you liked that! :-)
- Old Finn: again... wow!! another first vote, with such great pics in the challenge, is more than I expected! really many thanks!!
- Bill: I'm also very happy with your comment (and nice vote!), glad I could make you feel that "old world" with the pic, many thanks!
- Franz: hallo mein Freund! :-) A pleasure as usual to receive one of your great comments, glad you liked it so much. Many thanks! :-)
- Forkcandles: Also many thanks to you, I'm very happy you can also feel the "old memories" with my pic, "accomplished mission" (sorry for my quirky English :-)
-Amberbug: Glad you also liked it, the softness was intended this time (look at my comment to Una :-), many thanks for your nice comment & vote! :-)

Nice shot, good exposure etc, seems a little soft on the right side, maybe the reflections on the bottles, but nice setup,in my top picks.

one the timeless pictures which are as the photographer said, a memory aid and not a use by date in sight.

Very nice finding for the theme. Busy but true.
Beautiful props and colors. Nice lighting.
Very well done!

I like the 'old world' feel here, the earth tones and visual interest. In my top five for sure.

Surely a good example of still life....
For me a little busy(too much objects) but colors render well the mood

Has a little of a Dutch Masters still life to it. I think the cropping is a little tight but the lighting and colour makes up for that minor blemish.

I'm not a big fan of Topaz, or clipped frames (I feel the whole bottle on the right should be in or better still out), and the shot is off vertical/horizontal somewhat but there is a richness of colour, lighting and balance here which overcomes the obvious flaws. For such a complex composition with so much that could have gone wrong, it is very well done. Love the title too. [Edit] Changed my mind about the half bottle; it's better as it is. Not that you move up in my vote any. I had you #1 so no where else to go!
