Extra Info:
I was fortunate to be able to find a vantage point to shoot this private moment in the shadows. This is three-fourths of a robin family that lives in our backyard. The parents take turns gathering food and feeding the little ones. Good to have such responsible neighbors! --- Update: I went out today to take another photo, but the nest is empty. :-(

Thanks for the comments on my entries the lens used was a Canon 100-400 4.5 - 5.6 L IS Lens, not the best for close up work! Congratulations on your TT finish.

Congratulations - This was my #1 from the start. Unfortunately I ran out of time to comment on the Opens.
I wonder if the camera model is taken from your mugshot as opposed to the exif. I must check this out.

Thanks to all for the comments. This was a tough shot for me as I did not want to get too close and disturb the birds. Also, the chicks were jumping around for food in the shade no less. I gave up with my FZ-50 and opted for my son's Canon EOS Digital Rebel SLR (Though somehow my exif info on the site says FZ-50, hmm?)

I wondered who was behind this shot! A really nice image and nothing changes my opinion about this being in the running for no. 1 if all birds were tack sharp. Really enjoyed reading all your comments on the various entries too! I find I learn a lot that way. Nice TT finish in a really challenging field!

What a wonderful opportunity to be able to take this shot, and you've captured it so beautifully. The colour is rich, and the blurred background makes the scene so much more intimate. My TF

What a cool find and excellent timing on your part since the nest was empty soon after!

Beautiful shot, if the mother/father had food in its mouth that really would had added to the shot, in my top 5.

The composition, colouring, lighting, choice of subject, and framing are all excellent. With the birds all in sharp focus this would compete for my no. 1 pick. As it is, it will be somewhere in my top ten.
