Jade - That is ripe - coming from someone with Spanish waterfalls, Dead inverted insects and Angelesie buses (where did you get that name from) LOL LOL. As always I enjoy your comments and your humour.

A zoo! Had me fooled. To paraphrase a quote, "I wonder where the limits of imported animals' images will stop!"

Well done on the TT finish. Lovely capture of one of my fav's. To answer you question, I wish I did work with animals, but I am fortunate that there are many great places not too far away and that includes taking shots of wildlife in thier own surroundings, which is by far a preference. Good luck with the next challenge.

Thanks Jade - small zoo East of Ottawa. Check out the outake.

You'd make Tony the Tiger proud! Is this from ALS or someplace closer to home - like the Tory caucus meeting barbeque? Congrats on a TT finish.

fc - I will post an outake to show what I cloned out.

drivingback - Thank you. I checked the exif - 44mm. I was only 6 or 7 metres away from her. At that distance you can just feel the power in these animals.

Billy - Thank you. I had to use manual focus (for reasons you will see in the outake) I tried to focus on her eyes. I wanted her head as large as possible. I played with the position a bit for the same reason; this was the best I could do. Your comments as always are much appreciated.

Old Finn - Always great to get your support. It took a lot of work to get the natural look (see outake)

broph. Thanks for your comment. Why does the sun disappear just when the shot becomes available ? LOL. No moats at this zoo (photos would be so much easier) but it does have a lot more greenery than most. Nice to see the animals in this habitat as compared to the more usual concrete areas with artificial trees.

    Beautiful low level capture.

Hope you had a moat between you and this fine feline.

Well framed, good sharpness, it looks like laying in a natural surrounding. High in my favorites.

Nice image that captures a touch of the fierce and elegance of those great cats. Pity the focus seems to be just a little in front of her, on the grass (maybe simply a very little movement blur). Although being a bit too centered in the frame, the composition is still good due to her colouring, leaning to the right; anyway, a little bit of extra green on the left would be nicer.
Otherwise a powerful capture, well done!! :-)

Great photo and caption! It looks like she is ready to pounce on her next victim any moment. How far are you from the lion? The focal length is not showing in the details. Good luck!

    Jade. Thank you.
mark - Thanks. Coming from someone who takes such great Lion (and other animal) shots - your comments are much appreciated. I hope you get a chance to see the outake of the original and you will know what a job I had to produce this!

Nothing original in this lion head shot yet nothing to beef about the portrait you managed to capture here. In my TT.

Thanks for the comment LaRee - Though I don't know where you see a fence.

Wow. This cat looks hungry and intent! Nice capture. The fence is a bit distracting. Is that what you tried to clone out? Might have been better left alone.
