Many congrats Bill!! Sadly, another great image I left out of my TT, too many to choose this time :-( but I really liked it, a very strong image (I have to try that BW Styler :-)

No problem, Mepo. And thanks. As I said below, if your objection is on aesthetic or preferential grounds, there is no debate. My response in the forum makes clear my position about the technical aspect. I am still not certain where we disagree, however. Cheers.

Bill - Congratulations. As usual I loved your image. I just hope we can agree to disagree on the B & W/ Sepia thing :-)

7th is better than my 9th ranking of this one but either way, excellent image well deserving a place in the TT!

great building, you have great detail in the building and the clouds just top it all off.

Mepo, I don't know whether you are kidding or serious. Of course it is a b&w, with a slight sepia tone emulation. I did not read the challenge as forbidding toning. In fact, it says that it is acceptable to shoot b&w subjects in color mode, although I don't see that done in either set. If your objection is aesthetic, that's another matter and I would not challenge that.

Thanks guys. That's very nice. BW Styler is a b&w conversion program, either free standing or plug in. I use it as a plug in in CS3. It can emulate a variety of film types, filters, print papers, etc. The link is <http://thepluginsite.com/products/photowiz/bwstyler/>

Excellent composition. Not in my tt since it is not B & W

Wow!, a real standout in the challenge. This photo jumps off the screen at me. The angle, clarity and contrast are super. It makes me wonder if I should have shot my photo in color and converted instead of shooting in black and white. BTW, what is BW Styler?

Thanks Franz. I think what you are seeing is a bit of edge artifact from isolating the tops of the buildings so that I could increase the sky contrast.

Very strong b&w effect. Good composition.
There is a white border around the building, as if it was cut out of paper... How comes this?

Thanks. I liked the play of light and shadow and the particular lines and design of this building. For what it's worth, it was shot from the courtyard of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Maybe I was inspired, or more likely challenged!

Lots of people shoot up at buildings. You either lucked out, or more likely, as I like to give credit where it is probably due, planned a very specific up angle to give a very dynamic feel to the building. The drama of the sky adds to the drama of the angle and this is a nicely put together image.

Well Jade, if it doesn't make your TT, there's no point in us talking any more. :-( Just kidding. ;-)

Looking up is not an unusual perspective for a tall building yet this has a certain presence I like. Unsure if it will make my TT in the end but for now it is in my top picks.
