This ship is in it's home waters, I am nearly always on board for these river trips.
We also get several ships visiting the port during the year.

Thank you all for comments they are much appriected
Jade o glad you like the image, all the others didn't get the sun, the pictures were taken late in the day and trees above the gorge blockedit out.
The sharpness is a problem for me as I can't see the changes, the details are to small for me to see.
Even when using 200 per cent I have problems.
Mepo the year is 1497.
Had I used a different location the ship would have in the same and area which has not changed since medieval times.

Ah, Michael, I think that was 1097.

fc I love your ship shots and this one is simply ethereal. A fairy tale fantasy for me but it is incredibly a real image. And I like the composition just fine.

Beautiful image, another I'm feeling sorry for not having enough room in my TT... my only (very minor) reason is that it appears to be a bit oversharpened to my eyes, maybe it's only a side effect of the resizing compression... apart from that, what I like most here is the beautiful lighting, what has created that great colours. Nice job!!

I'd ranked it in a higher position if its composition was more attractive...
For example:there's poor space over the bow of the ship,it seems to collide with the frame of the photo...

Great shot - I love the evening sun on the stern and the golden glow in the water. The uneven coastline really adds interest. I'm looking forward to seeing the Mathew in the "Voyage of the Dawn Treader"

What a great find for this challenge. Do you have these wandering the waters in your area often? Nice shot that made it in my favs.

The Mathew sans doute. You have captured a nice moment here well done. I'm sure someone is turning over in their grave at your use of "rear of the ship". LOL

Now I know why I like this shot. It gives me the sense that the ship is leaving on a long voyage. I think I emigrated on it in 1497 LOL

Looks like a fantasy album cover - almost surreal. That looming dark mass adds to that effect.
