I wanted to see this finish higher up. I like the feeling it portrays. Not sure about the vignette. Maybe that threw some people off a bit.

As for my "periscope" as you impudently refer to it - I can see that you are just jealous - It is in fact a highly specialized item - hand made by Swiss craftsmen from the finest materials available and machined to exacting tolerances. All yours for $5 or best offer (free coffee cup included). ROFLOL

I didn't know it before, but I think you captured exactly one of those great moments I was looking for.
Wonderful shot and full of atmosphere.

On first go through, this is my favorite of all the entries in the main challenge. I love the feel I get. Friends having coffee together and talking....the best way to enjoy a cup of coffee!

Old Finn. Very happy to get your vote. I'm addicted to street photography - I love recording life. I know these guys are not models but I think they are honest, hard working people in from the cold enjoying some companionship with their coffee. We need more people like this. I think the guy on the right is a carpenter - his jacket was covered with wood chips - that was the 'dirt' I cloned off. I hope he would have approved.

I will post a photo of the lens for you after the voting is over.

piman - Thanks very much for commenting; glad you like the image. I liked the vignette from the lens barrel - imo it emphasized the covert nature of the shot but I understand that it might put a few people off.

Suits well to the topic. Sharpness, light and colors good.
The vignetting suits here. My 1:st choice.
Is it possible to see a picture of that mirror setup?

You've captured a nice moment of interaction with a sharp and well exposed image, but the vignette, not so much.

Spycam? The vignette makes this work. The subjects are perfectly natural and the moment captured. This is, I believe, everyday Ontario, in iconic form --not greatness, just everyman in its modesty. That modesty and sense of commonness belies this uncommon capture so that may not translate into votes. TT.
