Mepo: It was taken in the same place as "Hitchcock: The Birds". The place Is Vantaankoski (Vantaa Falls). The building of Helsinki was originally started about there.

A very pleasing image. I'm glad you didn't blur the water with a long exposure so we can enjoy the turbulent water contrasting nicely with the graceful curves of the snow. Perfect exposure also.

Black and white conversion and then back to colors???

The white snow turned blue in the process but nevertheless a good effort!

In my faves. I like the abstract pattern formed by the snow and water. I just wished a little slower shutter for a smoother movement for the water, it would have been perfect! Good luck!

Thanks Lo. I wanted a monochrome effect. So, I made a bw conversion, increased color depth, changed the color balance to cooler. Maybe the texture of the snow and water qas enhanced by the clarifying tool of the Paint Shop Pro and USM.

You've really achieved some interesting textures on the snow and water. Was this the result of switching to B&W and then back again? It's a great effect.

tt finish. try using gloves or latex gloves they do grip. did you put the camera in plastic bag before taking inside a warm room

This reminds me of bridges over troubled water. It's one of my top favourites. The composition is what initially attracted me but I'm not sure if I like the snow across the bottom of the photo. The handwarmer I use is called 'Bushmills Irish Whiskey' LOL. Super photo - t3 for sure.
