Pentax k-x       1st place, 99 points
1/639s, f10, ISO 400, 30mm, Aperture Priority, Pattern, no flash

Post-Processing: Cropped at the right side.
Selected parts to desaturate the red (channel?)to obscure obscene graffiti.
Did also a few cloning to obscure the obscene graffiti as well.
Contrast, Sharpening, Vignette.
Extra Info: I've been taking photos of Street Art this year then in time for the challenge I came across this abandoned house and saw these senseless obscene graffiti which I think are giving the ugly impression on Street Art in general.

There are amazing works of art out there that needs some appreciation. Not this one!

Congratulations on your finish - well deserved. I guess it's "tagging" that I object to most. I like Forkcandles's photo of the graffiti house; it's just the ugly signatures on the neighbourhood walls and fences that I find offensive.

Wow! I am surprised! Thanks everyone! Does this mean I am good at making "ugly" photographs??? LOL! :D

That has to be ugly in anybody's books. Good find. I'm glad you included the tower for balance.

Lo - I agree with you to some extent. But if the moral and legal facets are factored out I can still admire some great works that I have seen.

FC - I agree this is tagging. Thanks for reminding me of the term.

Jade - I got too detailed on the description regarding graffiti but as Raf pointed out I was also going for the decayed house. If I had a Panny I might have taken as what you suggested.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment! I appreciate your insights! :)

Graffiti is like a weed. If it appears in places where it is not wanted, it doesn't matter how beautiful it is, it will not be appreciated.

Decay is generally ugly. Cannot see the onscenity, but then I tend not to 'read' greaffiti.

Your motif is ugly and still interesting. The treatment reminds me of Alberto's typical color style, though it is missing a touch towards brown. Very good finding!

This is tagging and not graffiti. I suffer from this in most areas around me and local developers arrange to graffiti artists to come and do there work. This stops the taggers as they won't deface street art.

I would have moved in tight on this one and gone for the graffiti and concrete; the rest is all distraction. Definitely ugly.
