Thanks to all who had fun with this little item. As you can imagine, I had to shoot about 20 frames to get this one. I enjoy and appreciate all of your comments. Thanks, Jade, for an interesting challenge!

Looks like someone has a dog who's waiting to fetch the ball. Great timing to be able to stop the action at just the right moment.

Like this a lot. I would be tempted to tone down the jeans a little, they are currently bright enough to want to drag my eye. But that is minor.

Nifty idea, nifty execution. I had two issues not totally resolved. But first, great lighting, great backgound, great foreground. Nicely set and perfect cropping! Beautiful rendering in direct sunlight and nice shadow which really adds. The hand in neither too intrusive nor too small in the frame. The hand takes a lot of territory but on the periphery where is helps draw attention to the subject ball. No mistaking what the subject is here!

My two issues? The ball is a little blurred. On the minus it looks like motion blur error, but on the plus adds kinetic energy and movement. Ideally, I would like to see a sharp ball with a motion trail blur! The second issue? The blue jeans. They look like they are getting in the way of the shot yet you need that blue colour to add context. Obviously the ball bouncer is seated and without that clue, you'd have a weird hand and ball in a frame unnaturally appearing. My solution -- move the jeans over a smidge to the right so they occupy a little less territory. They feel too dominant in the image. Of course, this is all armchair quarterbacking.

This is still high in my fav's.
