Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I prefer no to be the one to choose a subject for the next challenge. Jade, I was joking about the average, I agree one can learn a lot from this site, and it's creative and gifted photographers.

Doto, really pleased to hear you will try to enter and be here to comment more often. Your history of work is your average and no chance of ruining that no matter how many entries follow this one. We most all get better over time and in the company of others whose work we are exposed to. Short of all of us being together in the same place to shoot what we might, I think the Challenges are the next best thing. And I think you bring a certain talent and we all learn from each other. I miss your lessons.

Thanks Jade, I am honoured to be mentioned in such an esteemed company, and to be considered a great photographer is very kind, especially concerning someone who has only taken this hobby seriously less than three years ago. I don't think I justify such praise, but thank you all the same. I'll try and participate more, as lately I hadn't had much time, and the challenges do need time to go and find a suitable subject. maybe I'll try joining the open categories more. On the other hand, I'll probably ruin my average after this challenge, so maybe it's best to retire at your peak :)

Thank you all so much, I'm honoured and humbled to receive such praise from so many people whose work I admire and find inspiring. This shot was a lucky example of candid street shooting where everything (well except the background) worked out just right :)

Excellent shot - not often you can find so much character in a face (and record it so well).

Excellent tones and texture in this image. B&W makes this image so much stronger.

What a great subject. Don't you just really appreciate it when you get that feeling that the subject is right and they want you to capture the moment.

Thanks all, your enthusiasm and encouragement are highly appreciated. It's not exactly as it was taken from the hip, I did crop a little from the top.

This has just about everything going for it. Great subject, very good technique (focus, contrast, b&w tonal quality), and well composed. My favorite of the the favorites.

Technically perfect. Great touch with the background blur. Wonderful light and lines. Marvelous interest. My no. 3 but easily could be no. 1. (I feel a little guilty about not making a such a great portrait my no. 1).

And you got a wonderful head shot. You can see life with a big L in his face and the hands! I bet a double expresso kicks him in to gear.
Well done
