The segways make everyone look ridiculous and the fact that a woman with a cane appears to be more practically mobile is probably not the point of this image - but it could have been. My gut instinct would have been to run over to the far side of the road, point at the segways receding and the woman with the cane walking toward me and shoot - but I am unsure what the background would look like from the other side.

Speaking of the segway (I refuse to dignify the thing with a capital letter), it only looks good when placed next to something even more ridiculous - such as say the Honda UX-3 (also called the U3-X for reasons I couldn't care to know.

Most apt comment I've read, "The Japanese seemingly invented this device so that the world would feel like it owed the Segway an apology."

picture is also a comment on the way things are changing. before long we will have segway lanes instead of bus lanes? the cane will last longer. like the picture as it has several elements working to gether

It took me a bit to detect the cane. An interesting documentation of several ways of transportation. I have never used a sedgeway, but it must be great fun.

Wow! Great timing to capture these Segway riders and the woman with the cane! However I think this is an instance where less in more. I believe the cars distract from the significance of the contrast of the riders versus the walker with the cane. There is just enough room to crop out the cars such that the first rider on the right would be on the right third of the frame, and the other 3 people would be in the left third of the frame. Your thoughts???

Also, I noticed some fringing on the upper right parts of the white shirts, (especially the man on the right). Here is a link I found that deals with this:

So many different forms of transport ... so a good response to the theme.
